Headline-based scoring
This beta uses deterministic keyword rules on the headline, not an AI analyst or a human editorial review. The first matching category, checked from highest importance down, supplies its score and explanation. Mixed headlines, negation, speculation, or missing context can cause incorrect classifications. Always read the original source.

A score of 10 is a category label, not proof that an article is accurate, breaking, or relevant to your financial situation. Positive and negative developments can receive the same score.
How delivery works
The connected news feed is checked on a one-minute schedule when the owner enables it. Feed entitlement can impose delays before Market Cue sees a story. Carrier or email-provider processing adds more time. “Instant” is a product goal, not a guaranteed latency.
The first scan establishes a baseline without sending old news. Later scans consider newly detected, timestamped stories published in the past hour and after your rule was created or changed. Up to 50 feed results are inspected per scan across a beta maximum of 15 tickers. High-volume periods, outages, and missing timestamps may lead to missed stories. The beta does not backfill missed messages.
News at or above your selected threshold qualifies. Quiet hours skip stories instead of queuing a burst. The same source URL is sent at most once per account and channel, even if it names multiple followed tickers. A later update to that same URL is not a new alert.
Real data, honest status
News previews link to their original publisher and identify the feed used. When a source fails, you see an unavailable state—not invented or substituted market news. Public landing-page message examples are explicitly illustrative.
SMS “accepted” means Twilio accepted the request; “delivered” requires a provider receipt. Email acceptance is recorded but inbox delivery is not confirmed in this prototype. Uncertain sends are not automatically retried to avoid duplicate charges and interruptions.
Pilot limits
Five active alerts per account, 15 distinct active tickers across the beta, and 15 verified phones. Up to 3 news texts and 10 news emails per account per UTC day, subject to overall caps of 45 texts and 150 emails. Test alerts count toward these limits. Verification requests have separate limits.
